Our State Bird. Such a Regal bird. and there probably is no bird call more famous than that of the Loon. I have savored countless evenings listening to their serene songs. The darkness, the Loon's call breaking the darkness. It offers a strange sense of companionship and connection that can bring oneself to a deeper sense of understanding. We all need Loons in our lives.
